Hi all, this blog used to be called Baby Murray, that's before Baby Murray became Jillian :) My first child, a daughter was born on April 27th, 2007. So far this was the happiest and scariest day of my life. This blog is all about my life. I hope you enjoy.

Doctor's Appointment.

Yesterday was my Doctor's appointment. I have gained 5 poounds since the last appointment. I now weigh 113. My stomach is still aout the same measurement though. My blodd pressure was 100/40. I guess that is good. I heard the baby's heartbeat again, storng and loud. Aparrently the baby is a bit shy though beause each time we listen it goes and hides after a while. It's shy or really active. Knowing Jim and I it is probably active because we are definately not shy. :) I have attached a link it is not of our baby's heartbeat, but it is of a baby's heartbeat. I hope it works :)

We are not 12 Weeks Along. Time Flies when you're having fun !!!!!!

Here is how baby and I are doing now.

Mother:
You may actually start feeling better from your extreme tiredness and nausea this week. Others will hang on to it for awhile longer. Your abdomen may start expanding, especially if this is not your first pregnancy.
Your placenta will take over the production of hormones around this time. If you have suffered from corpus luteum cysts they may begin to dissolve now. Your risk of miscarriage is reduced even further.
Baby:
While your baby's brain is not the same size it will be at birth, it does have the same structure. Bile is being secreted by this time. S/he weighs about 14 grams and is approximately 3.54 inches in total length.
Your baby has its reflexes and also practice movements in the digestive tract. All of this in preparation for extrauterine life.
If your practitioner uses a doppler, you may be able to hear your baby's heart beat at this office visit. It will sound very fast. Some say that they hear clicking or the sounds of horse hooves. Either way it is a joyous sound to hear! Your risk of miscarriage is greatly reduced once you hear this sound.
Dad:
Consider joining a support group for dads! There are plenty of online groups dedicated to the art of fathering. These groups can be havens for you to discuss all of your feelings from the good to the bad and every joy and frustration in between.
Twin Tips:
Your uterus may begin to measure larger for dates than a singleton mom. This could also be one of the first times that multiples are suspected.

We have a heartbeat now.

Jim and I went to my mom's on Saturday to hear the baby's heartbeat. Jim is not able to go to the doctor's appointment on Wednesday so we wanted to make sure he could hear the heartbeat first. :) Baby has been on my left side hiding :). The heartbeat is loud strong and fast. I figure all of this is a good sign. My mom counted about 164 beats per minute. I have taken the blocks off of my blog they were causing some problems. Hopefully I can figure out a better background sometime soon. until then it is stuck like this. I will record the heartbeat again when I go to the doctor. If one of my blogging friends wants to be so kind, they can let meknow how to add that to the blog so everyone can hear it. :) Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

Aud and Baby

We are in week 11

Maybe you’ve noticed… your child is a stupendous grower! They will be gaining a substantial amount of weight this week, and have already achieved fruit-size-status comparable to a plum. Your little scientist is already starting to explore their body, focusing most intently on touching their head, and especially their face and mouth. The mouth in particular will provide them with hours of entertainment. This happens not only because your baby is gaining coordination, and is therefore able to move a hand on command, but also because their palms have gained sensation and can actually “feel” what it touches. They're also developing their swallow refllex this week. And lastly, your baby's smelling and other olfactory senses begin developing this week, which when combined with the maturing taste buds, will provide your baby with their first experiences of taste and smell.

And how's mom doing? If you’ve still been enduring the joys of morning sickness, it should finally be subsiding to the point of non-existence by the end of this week. The growing placenta combined with your little one’s developing pituitary gland have given you a break on hormone production, so now your can focus on the Remember, if it’s not good for you, then it won’t do any good for your developing baby either. If you’re finding that you’re often hungry after dinners, don’t simply default to having extra ice cream for dessert fact you’re about to enter the second trimester of pregnancy, which can be most aptly characterized by lots of growth on both you and your little uterus-tenant.
At this point you should be making a conscious effort to gradually increase your consumption of (healthy vitamin rich) food. THIS DOES NOT MEAN LIFE IS NOW AN OPEN BUFFET. Remember, if it’s not good for you, then it won’t do any good for your developing baby either. If you’re finding that you’re often hungry after dinners, don’t simply default to having extra ice cream for dessert. Have a second helping of vegetables and fish, or whole grain bread with jam. Good nutrition is absolutely vital for your baby's brain and body development.
Additionally, make sure you’re taking “me-time” to center yourself and focus on your body’s interactions with your baby, listen to relaxing or inspiring music, read good books, think happy thoughts, you know, all the mentally stimulating stuff that puts you in a good mood (in other words, watching international news isn't recommended). The better you treat your body and emotions now, the healthier and happier your child will be once “they’re on the outside.”

I think it is time to go shopping for yet again more clothes. This time I might go somewhere cheaper. Maternity clothes are expensive. :(
We have made it to week 10.
Here is what is going on with baby right now:

Your astonishingly tiny baby has graduated from embryo to full blown fetus! And so it should be, as they've been hard at work growing as fast as possible—almost doubling in size in the past three weeks! Amazingly, you’re in for a repeat size doubling performance within the next three weeks! Your tiny champion still weighs less than a quarter of an ounce but has already completed the most critical stage of their development. Using Doppler technology, your doctor or gynecologist can let you hear their tiny rapid fetal heartbeats this week (145-165 beats per minute!). Chances for miscarriage are greatly reduced when the heartbeat can be detected, so take a sigh of relief if you’ve been needing one—it hasn’t been an easy ten weeks! What’s more, they’re getting ready to make their first baby poop! Your little one’s major organ systems are developing, including a functioning digestive tract capable of moving food all the way through their bowels. The final shiny gold star on their fetal behavior chart for the week: your little scrapper has already developed defense mechanisms to protect them on reflex!

And how's mom doing? More good news for mom: the placenta has grown substantially, in both size and function. It is now beginning to manage some of your child’s hormones, finally taking some of the hormonal burden off of you! Since the placenta has gradually taken over the hormone production for your baby, you should pregnancy is not a standardized procedure so much as an individual journey finally start to notice that much-awaited decrease in morning sickness symptoms. Like everything else, though, this is just a general guideline... if you have lingering effects for another couple of weeks, don’t fret (or fret, but don't blame us)—pregnancy is not a standardized procedure so much as an individual journey

October 11, 2006

I have made some new changes to this site. I am hoping it will be easier for my friends and family that do not use this all the time to comment. I really want to put a background on here. I just haven't found the right one yet. I feel pretty good today. Eating alot more now adays. I guess it's alright since it's for two. I probably eat as much as normal people do now. I have figured out that I do not snack during the day. I eat breakfast, lunch and dinner. I never seem to feel hungry in between. Probably because I fill up all the way each meal. :) Jim is supposed to buy me some ice cream today so I might have to have dessert tonight. We have been on an ice cream kick lately. Let me know what you think of the new website. Or if you have any cute ideas I can try and incorporate them. :)

Fetal development in pregnancy week 9:fetus in third month

Voila! Your amazing growing baby has now been accepted into the fetus-club, a very exclusive and exiting new stage in their prenatal development. Basically, this means the little sweet pea has graduated from swimming embryo creature to a recognizable human being! This week in particular, the irises of their little eyes can function, but (frustratingly for them?) their eyelids remain fused shut for a while yet. The external ears are formed, and their inner ears are now filled with fluid—so your little one actually has started to develop their sense of balance. Your baby's little swimmer legs are still relatively short, although other developments are going forward at a nice pace: their kidney is actually functioning now, which means they’ve started urinating (this might seem charming now but wait till you have to start buying diapers!).
And how's mom doing? You’re nearing the end of the first trimester and while there are plenty of dynamic and noticeable changes going on inside of you, not many changes are noticeable to you save a mildly bulging midline-- which doesn't quite look pregnant enough to be exciting. Although your body might seem a little boring right now, you can expect the creeping up effect as you will gain roughly 1-2 lbs gain per week (some more and some less). It’s not a bad idea to chart this to make sure you’re not over or underfeeding both of you. As you’ve entered into the Fetal Period, it might be a good time to evaluate your personal health regimen—that is, if you haven’t already. Are you eating enough protein? Remember, protein can be found in beans, soy products and nuts—it doesn’t have to be a 12 ounce sirloin! Sleeping well, exercising right, drinking enough (non-sugary) fluids and getting your vitamin C? Having a baby is the ultimate test for your body—if you take care of your health now you’ll come out of the pregnancy on top of your health and ready to be an energetic mother, if not, well, let’s just say, you’re increasing the chances of suffering from depression, osteoporosis, diabetes, obesity, and a multitude of little nasty viruses (think colds and flues) that good health could beat before you even noticed they’d invaded.

October 5, 2006

This morning my stomach was having that lovely stretching feeling again. Which means baby is growing even more. I can't wait to feel it move for the first time. Today baby had it's first cupcake and I think it liked it ALOT. At least mommy did HA! I slept a little bit better last night. Tonight Jim's Dad is coming in from Nebraska to visit for His Brother's graduation. We are supposed to ge out to eat Friday night, though I am not really sure where we will eat. It doens't really matter to us. :) Today my friend Jen said man you can really tell your stomach is getting bigger. I figure it must be the shirt I am wearing. Note to self, do not wear this shirt again until after the baby is here!!!!! So I guess I will have to get some more shirts and a couple more pairs of pants. I am growing lke a weed and can't fit into some stuff anymore. Tonight I am going to go get a measuring tape so I can see how many inches my belly has grown. I think I started at 25, then last month I checked at Bob's house and I was already at 29. So who know how large I am now, but I plan to make that part of this blog as well. So stay tuned for a belly update.

UPDATE to this blog I checked with the tape measure and sure enough my belly is still growing it is now at 32 inches. That is a 7 inch difference since I got pregnant. :)

What Baby Looks Like Right now

Tuesday, October 03, 2006

Look Mommy Kittens !!!!!!!!!!!

I really hope this does not happen to me someday. I just thought it was funny my friend Penny sent it to me. LOL
October 3rd how mommy is feeling today

I am now 8 weeks along since it is already October!!!!! Our next appointment is on the 25th of this month. We will finally be able to hear baby's heartbeat. I am planning on recording it on my phone so people that see me can hear it. I am feeling great now, just tired which I am told is normal. I had a rough night last night. I went to lay down and fell asleep at around 10 p.m., but then I woke up for my normal mid night poty break at 2 AM. Sigh!! Then fell back asleep. There was a storm going on outside so I of course woke up to listen to that for awhile. I wish I could go back to being a heavy sleeper just for a few more months till baby gets here. LOL.

We talked last night about names. We have made our final decision on a name for a boy and a girl and they are...................................

James Andrew (the second) or
Jillian Elizabeth

I ahve to check the spelling on Elizabeth, but you get the idea. We will find out what we are having somewhere between the end of October and the end of November. I don't even care anymore what we have as long as it is healthy. Jim says he wants a healthy baby too, so eventually we will get what we want. I have continued to be a good eater even though I have my cravings that have to be met. Below is a list of the foods I have been craving already:

Flaming Hot Cheetos
Olive Garden Salad and breadsticks
Qdoba
Nachos
Mint Cholcoalte chip ice cream YUMMY
Taco Bell
Panera Bread
Fish Sticks ?????????
Anything Spicy and bad for me
an ice cold coke or pepsi

I think that may be it. Who knows my poor stomach is getting more food crammed down it than anyone could ever imagine would fit in there.

Hope everyone is well. I would love to hear people comments on this blog. I will try to keep it update so I can record it all when I get a baby book :)
Our First Doctor's Appointment

Sorry I am a little slow at this right now. We had our first doctor's appointment on Wednesday September 25, 2006. Everything went well. I weighed in at a whopping 107.5 and my blood pressure was great. The doctor tried to listen to baby's heartbeat, but was unsuccessful. :(

I will have more details after the next appointment.
